Our Process
How it works
The science behind these tests is complex, the process you follow is not. It starts with a consultation, not a purchase. We talk through your goals, I relay which test options fit your needs and send you a quote that includes your summary report review.
Your collection kit arrives at your door, you take the sample at home and mail it back. Once the lab finishes, your report lives in a secure web portal that you can access at any time from any desktop, laptop, tablet or smartphone, and we review it together.
Book a Consultation
45 to 60 minutes
We start with a conversation about your goals, history and what you want your data to answer. No test is ordered before we know why.
Receive Your Quote
Within 1 to 2 days
Based on the consult I relay the right test options (or combination) and send you a quote. Your summary report review is included in that quote.
Purchase Your Test
Ships in 2 to 5 days
Once approved, your DNA collection kit is ordered and shipped directly to your address with pre-paid return packaging.
Collect Your Sample
About 5 minutes
Rub the sterile swab along your gums for one minute (or follow the blood spot or fecal instructions for your test), pack it up and mail it back.
Lab Analysis
Genetic Direction 2 to 3 weeks · TruDiagnostic up to 6 weeks
The federally certified lab analyzes your sample. You are notified by email as soon as your report is live in the secure portal.
Report Review
Included in your quote
We walk through your results together and build a practical plan to integrate the diet, supplement and lifestyle guidance from your report into your life.
Turnaround times are estimates from the lab. Genetic Direction DNA panels typically return in 2 to 3 weeks; TruDiagnostic epigenetic panels can take up to 6 weeks from the date your sample reaches the lab.
Collection Methods
Two labs, two very different samples
Steps 1, 2, 3 and 6 are identical no matter which test you order. What changes is how you collect your sample at step 4, what the lab actually reads at step 5, and what the report tells you. Here is the difference in plain terms.
Genetic Direction
Cheek swab · your fixed DNA
1 · Activate your kit
Register the barcode on your kit online so your sample is tied to your secure portal account.
2 · Swab your cheek
No food, drink or gum for 30 minutes. Rub the sterile swab firmly along the inside of your cheek and gum line for about 60 seconds, then seal it in the collection tube. Painless, no needles, about five minutes start to finish.
3 · Mail it back
Drop the pre-paid return mailer in any post box. Room temperature is fine, the sample is stable in transit.
4 · Genotyping at the lab
The CLIA-certified lab reads the specific gene variants on your panel (fitness, nutrient, gut, weight or renewal markers) and scores how your body is predisposed to respond to training, food and supplementation.
Results in 2 to 3 weeks. Your DNA does not change, so you take these tests once and the report is a permanent blueprint you keep referring back to.
TruDiagnostic
Blood spot · your biological age
1 · Register and complete your intake
Activate the kit barcode and fill in the health questionnaire. Those answers are used to contextualise your epigenetic scores.
2 · Take a finger-prick blood spot
Warm your hand, use the single-use lancet, and fill the marked circles on the collection card with a few drops of blood. Let the card air-dry for 30 minutes before sealing it with the desiccant pack.
3 · Mail it back the same day
Send the dried card back in the pre-paid mailer as soon as it is dry so the sample reaches the lab in good condition.
4 · Methylation sequencing
The lab measures hundreds of thousands of DNA methylation sites and runs them through validated algorithms to produce your biological age, pace of ageing, immune cell subsets and system-level health scores.
Results in up to 6 weeks. Epigenetics changes with how you live, so this one is worth repeating. Most people retest every six to 12 months to see whether their interventions are working.
In short: Genetic Direction tells you what you were born with and how to work with it. TruDiagnostic tells you how your body is ageing right now and whether what you are doing is moving the needle. Used together, one sets the strategy and the other measures the result.
TruDiagnostic Technology
Epigenetic biomarkers
TruDiagnostic uses epigenetic biomarkers to measure biological function from a single drop of blood. This gives a readout of biological age, immune cell balance and system-level health scores that can be tracked over time.
